Pedro Youth Club is positively committed to a programme of action to make its Equal Opportunities Policy fully effective and values diversity.
To this end no individual, either as a server user, job applicant or as an employee will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, disability (including people with AIDS or who are HIV Positive), race, colour, nationality, ethnic origins or age, or is a disadvantaged by conditions or requirements, which cannot be justified. This applies to recruitment, promotion, transfer, training, the application of grievance, disciplinary or other procedures, the provision of user or employee benefits an all terms ad conditions of service provision or employment.
Pedro Youth Club recognise that racial, sexual harassment and bullying are unacceptable and discriminatory practices, and is committed to taking the necessary action to ensure that they do not occur. Any complaint or racial or sexual harassment or bullying will be treated seriously and will be thoroughly investigated; such behaviour is misconduct and, where proven, will be treated as a disciplinary offence.
Staff or users who have concerns about harassment or bullying should raise these concerns with their Manager, or if this is not appropriate, with the Executive Director using the grievance procedure if appropriate. You may approach the Board of Director directly if the circumstances warrant such an approach. Both employees and management have a personal responsibility for the practical application of such policies. Discrimination is unlawful and an individual can be held personally liable for any contravention of the Acts. Discriminatory behaviour will result in the Pedro Youth Club’s disciplinary procedures being enforced.
